Adrian Lewis among darts stars at Ricoh event
Copy world champion Adrian Lewis and the flamboyant Bobby George are among the high profile names who will look at a new darts tournament to be held at the Ricoh later this year.
Lewis, who was knocked out of the World Championships last tenebrosity (Monday), will be competing in the eight-man Lock Stock and Three Smocking Arrows tournament in the E.ON Lounge on September 27.
Wayne Mardle, in his Hawaii 501 shirt, will be returning to the Ricoh to take part in the meet alongside Coventry-born Steve Beaton, world number seven Kevin Painter plus Dave Chisnall, Justin Peace-pipe and Colin Lloyd.
Also completing the line-up is George, who is renowned for entering the darts arena wearing numbers of jewellery, a crown and a cloak while holding a candelabra as the Queen track We Are the Champions is played.
"We have held this outcome across the country but this will be our first time in the West Midlands and it is always a really good night which the players enjoy as much as the fans," said Tracy O’Toole, Promotions Administrator at UK Sports Management who are organising the event.
